Our Vision

Providing and facilitating support for Edo people in Western Australia (WA) including welfare for members, building and sustaining positive Edo cultural values for the current and upcoming generations as well as promoting our rich Edo culture to the wider community.

Our Strategy

Working closely with all key stakeholders including local, state and federal governments, the Nigeria Association of Western Australia (NAWA), Igbo Association of Western Australia, Yoruba Society of Western Australia, Organisation of African Communities WA (OACWA), and other related bodies in WA in view of support, participation, and mutual benefits.

ENAWA Exco will facilitate 80/20 rule – expend more energy and resources (80%) on 20% high priority areas of welfare, culture and value-adding trades primarily for the benefits of our members. The other 20% efforts will be directed at other areas (80%), though important as well, but we can tap into existing resources and networks to deliver those aspects.

For example, we can tap into NAWA, NIDO, OACWA for aspects like liaison and issues relating to the Nigerian High Commission in Australia, Australian High Commission in Nigeria, and Nigerian and Australian Federal Government.

ENAWA members will be encouraged to also take up membership (where applicable) and participate in the various services. Significant issues relating to immigration, passport, employment, legal matters, etc., will be channeled via these networks for timely and amicable resolution for the benefit of our members.

Thus, the initiatives and operations presented below constitute the 20% that will demand our direct 80% efforts.

System & Sustainability

The above vision and initiatives will require pillars to stand on in order to be operational and sustainable. Without these, they will fall apart, if not immediately, then over time. Systems are these pillars. They include website, social media pages, emails, and their ground rules / operational boundaries, finance, leadership, succession (including youth mentoring for sustainability), etc.
