WHO WE ARE?

OUR VISION

Providing and facilitating support for Edo people in Western Australia (WA) including welfare for members, building and sustaining positive Edo cultural values for the current and upcoming generations as well as promoting our rich Edo culture to the wider community.

OUR STRATEGY

Working closely with all key stakeholders including local, state and federal governments, the Nigeria Association of Western Australia (NAWA), Igbo Association of Western Australia, Yoruba Society of Western Australia, Organisation of African Communities WA (OACWA), and other related bodies in WA because of support, participation, and mutual benefits.

ENAWA Exco will facilitate the 80/20 rule – expend more energy and resources (80%) on 20% of high-priority areas of welfare, culture and value-adding trades primarily for the benefits of our members. The other 20% of efforts will be directed at other areas (80%), though important as well, but we can tap into existing resources and networks to deliver those aspects.

For example, we can tap into NAWA, NIDO, and OACWA for aspects like liaison and issues relating to the Nigerian High Commission in Australia, the Australian High Commission in Nigeria, and the Nigerian and Australian Federal Governments.
ENAWA members will also be encouraged to take up membership (where applicable) and participate in the various services. Significant issues relating to immigration, passport, employment, legal matters, etc., will be channelled via these networks for timely and amicable resolution for the benefit of our members.

SYSTEM & SUSTAINABILITY

The above vision and initiatives will require pillars to stand on to be operational and sustainable. Without these, they will fall apart, if not immediately, over time. Systems are these pillars. They include websites, social media pages, emails, ground rules/operational boundaries, finance, leadership, succession (including youth mentoring for sustainability), etc.
